can anybody guide me on how to create bandwidth policy?
I have created different groups, now I want to create different bandwidth policy for different group -
To create bandwidth policy follow the steps as below
1) First go to Bandwidth Management Section
2) Select the QOS (Quality of service) Policy
3) Provide the relevant name
4) Set Speed Limit
you have two option from you can choose
1.Set Limit (this option is used to set the upload
and download speed)
2.Set Guarantee
(There you can set max. as well as min. downloading and uploading speed)
(In this option you have to select the
service curve )
A.Linkshare(It try to get you the speed which you have set)
B.Linkshare and real-time (it try hard to get the speed
which you set )5) Click on Create
6) Now you have to click on Bandwidth Group
7) Provide the name and description(optional)
8) Set Data Limit (there is 3 option from you can choose
a.Unlimited
b.Set Individual Limits(Upload and Download Usage)
c.Set Total Limits( Upload + Download Usage)9) Set Speed Limit (QOS policy)
10)Set FUP Type & Limit
( In Fair Usage Policy you have 2 option from which you can
choose
1.Slow Internet (you have to create a new QOS policy for it)
2.Stop Internet (this FUP option is applied to the user when the
user have completed his data usage)11)Bandwidth Usage
(In bandwidth usage you can select between 2 option
1.To every individual
(this option is used when you want to give specific data
for every user in the group. In this option you have to also select the Group QOS policy[Max cap on the group] which will be applicable on the group. For e.g. suppose there are 10 students each having 5-10 Mbps of speed but the Student group limit is 20 Mbps . So group cap would be 20Mbps QoS policy and speed limit would 5-10 Mbps )
2.Share Among Group
(this option is used when you want to share the specific
data in a group but there is disadvantage of this option as QoS policy is not set any Individual in the group can
Use high bandwidth service and can choke other User speed in the group )12) Click on SAVE
13) Now select Create Additional Package
(this option is used to create Priority traffic . For e.g. Suppose we want to stream a video and a VOIP is configured through our PC we don’t want any delay in the VOIP packet so we can set high priority for the VOIP packet. Now the VOIP packets don’t have to wait in the Que and the other application will have to wait in the Que in the Buffer )14) Create Package name
15) Select Type
(there Will be three option from which admin can choose
a.Web category
b.Application Category
c.Port Host Group)16) Select category
17) Select the QoS Policy(created earlier)
18) Click on SAVE
19) Now go to Bandwidth Management / Bandwidth Policy
20) Provide the policy name
21) Select the bandwidth group (created earlier )
22) Select the Additional package(Optional)
23) Choose Validity Type
There are 3 option available
1.One Time(In this option there are 2 choices available
1.a)Do not renew(countdown after the first login)(in this option after the time is over the session will expire)
1.b)Renew after(countdown after the first login)(in this option after the time is over the session will expire but we can set the time after the session will
be restored )b.set the date (you can set the date range in which the session will be allowed )
2.Recurring(this option is used when we want to give bandwidth again and again .We can set the the Recurring time and We can also set if we want to renew the bandwidth policy manually or automatically . For e.g. there
is a open wifi and the user exceeds assign daily data now we can set the Renewal time after which the user will get the assigned data and speed limit again )3.PMS(this option will me according to the PMS integretion)
24) Click on create
NOTE:you have only made the bandwidth policy to apply it on
user you have to apply it on the group
